    Hello all,

I've been a Chevy/GM owner all my life, (and Jeep) but I just sold my '94 Jeep GC 4x4, 5.3L V-8, and with the money from the sale, snatched up a '94 K2500 Suburban 4x4, 4-door with a 6.5L turbo diesel in it. It was offered last year, during a County auction, it was used by the Town Engineering Dept. and I would say it was kept-up pretty good during their use of it, even though it has 170,000 miles on it. The body is flawless, it's White w/black wheel-flares, the tires are 85% new, Goodyear Wrangler MT's 245R7.5E x 16" standard rims. Washed and waxed it looks brand new. It has a roof rack, (Survey equipment), it too cleaned up nice, but needs a Safari rack, for hunting and fishing trips.

I'm designing one now on my computer, with AppleWorks drawing, and may post jpeg's of same, later. The Z71 brushguard was removed by someone, ? So that might be the next shop project, before next Spring.

The set of Aluminum wheels, ( Ultra's #140) I ordered just came-in, Friday and will have them put on today. Two days after I bought it, I took it in for an oil change, and inspection of everything between it and the road. No leaks in any cases/pans, it was clean underneath no built-up mud, very little rust, exhaust system checked out fine (will add a chrome tail end)!!

I'm taking out the third seat, the Lt. Gray cloth seats look good, the front were covered with gray sheep covers, the drivers seat, ( 40-20-40, w/armrests) could use a foam pad redo, and cleaning. The Delco radio, is Ok, but the speakers have to go, for new 3-ways and maybe two 6 1/2" Sub woofers in the rear doors, driven by an amp. I want a CD-unit, and 12 disk changer, but I need to plan out a center console under the dash, and make a custom wood unit for them. That I can also mount some engine gages in also. And storage for disk changer trays, or jewel cases.

I know it's getting on in years, but so am I, and the older model Chevy's have less high tech stuff, then the newer ones. Anything I can't fix or work on using a Chiltons or Haynes, goes to my trusted Mechanic.
Besides, this Suburban looks like a Grand Cherokee Ltd. on steroids, it might not have leather seats like it, or an '03 Escalade, but it will feel just right off-road or on a beach sand dune, with a kick butt sound system. Plus I won't have to worry about stopping a toy hauler trailer, which was one factor for selling the Jeep, let alone putting a 20 foot boat into the water.

Well Ladies and Gents, I'm glad I joined the Chevy forum, I'll be sure to ask if I need help, and or return the favor in the days ahead. Sorry if I'm boasting a little, I'm just a happy camper with this $3500 find, from the local Sunday paper.

    Later,

    Ski
