Greetings all from Buffalo,New York! I own a 65'long box fleetside, I'm just getting started on my project and would appreciate all helpful hints on how to make my ride as enjoyable as possible. I have the original 283 automatic, but it has been bored over .60 and the points have been changed to an HEI distributor. There was also a Stahl converter installed, all of which was done by the previous owner. It has manual brakes and steering, and a column shift. I intend to upgrade all of that, but I would like opinions on what would be the most budget savy, safe and dependable route to go. Currently the truck is dire need of attention (mostly the underside metal) but has good straight body panels. I have stripped the interior and exchanged my bench seat for some buckets, and have $2100 worth of parts(wiring, carpeting, ect.)waiting to be installed. Thank you in advance and I look forward to speaking to all of you! A.J. }>

Thanks dennis! I am a california native, moved from santa rosa(above frisco)a couple years ago. It seems a bit unfortunate seeing how most of my truck parts are coming from california. Well anyway thanks again! A.J.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Apr-20-04 AT 01:33 AM (CST)]I forgot to answer your question A.J.

My way is to first make it safe, brakes , steering and suspension. etc
Then make it GO. Dependable driver, G-machine, aircraft carrier catapult, whatever rows yer boat. Then, make it pretty..

Not surprised you moved to Buffalo, the weather is almost identical to Santa Rosa ! ;)

    I'm a northern N.J. transplant myself.
