Well, it took 2 1/2 months, but I finally got my truck back. She looks great. I had her painted at the local prison, under an inmate education program. The entire outside, inside the cab and the under side of the hood all changed from blue/white to gloss black (base/clear) for $716.32. It's not show quality, but it's pretty darn close! I have the rear bumper mounted upside down for now as I'm pretty sure I like it better that way.
Looks Mighty fine to Me . Perty cheap Considering the cost of Materials these days . Thanks for Showing . Bob
looks very good!! let me ask you, how did you go about getting the prison to paint your truck? i live near our state prison and would love to see if they do the same or similar program.
My best friend and next door neighbor is a corrections office for the South Carolina Department of Corrections. He works at the medium security prison where they have the paint program. They painted his truck about 2 years ago and it still looks great, so I decided to take mine in. The inmates working on the truck knew it was for a freind of his, so they took extra special care of it. I'd contact your state department of corrections and see if they have any such programs in their prisons. The only draw back is that it takes longer than normal to get the job done. The labor is free though
Great job on the body work & nice finish! In Canada our high schools will offer a similar program to repair or paint your vehicle but unfortunately you can't trust some of the students and projects have been damaged instead of repaired. oh well, Guess I'll have to learn how to do everything myself!!!
