Hi everyone, I am new to posting here. I have been reading the postings for 8 years. My truck is a '58 Chevy half ton, short W.B., step side. I did all the work myself except some machine shop work on the engine. When I got it, it had no engine, no tranny, no radiator, no seat. It did have lots of rust. After 5 years of work and a pile of money, I finally got a ride. Been driving it for 3 years now. I guess our projects are never finished as there are more things I want for it. Kept the front straight axle. Replaced the bad rear end with one out of a '67. The engine and tranny are from a '75 Chevy Impala, rebuilt it, gave it some horsepower, had the Turbo 350 tranny rebuilt with a shift kit, runs great. Put bucket seats with a console in it out of a Dodge Dakota, (don't shoot me) they fit in the cab really good with out looking too big. VDO gauges. Did all the body work myself, even painted it in my back yard. I tried to put a picture of it on here but failed even with help. I believe there is a picture connected with my profile, computers are not my thing, no nuts and bolts to turn. Truck is not a dailey driver but not a trailer queen either. It gets driven to local cruise ins and car shows. Sometimes we take a drive in Ocalas horse farm area. Sorry, I didn't mean to write a book when I started this. Gerald

Beautiful ride Gerald. Welcome. Yes, yellow does work. I'm curious, what color is your headliner. I bought a white one when I was thinking of going with a blue paint. Not sure if it'll work with yellow. But, it will be cooler. I'm pretty set on doing the yellow. I hope they still make paint when I'm ready But, right now, I'm focusing on the drivetrain. Gettin my engine tomorrow. Frame is almost ready for paint, and the 100 plus days are gone finally Woody
Headliner Woody, the headliner is black. My wife and I built it. Went to a local fabric shop and got a piece of hard board, 1/2 inch thick foam, upholstery material that looks like leather and a big can of adhesive. Made it a little bigger than the hole then attached it with sheet metal screws. By the time we were done, it cost more than the one our host sells. It looks good and is unique. Since the truck is yellow, I used black for accent. The seats are darker gray than they appear and look good with the yellow and black.
Thanks Thanks everyone for the good words, I truely appreciate it. Great comments from people with like interests mean a lot. We all know how much time and effort goes into one of these trucks, and also the money. I think I must have paid for a new wing for our hosts building. Thanks again Gerald
