Make it a bit wider and deeper. With two vehicles in there it will be full.

What coralhead said. No need to scrimp on at least 4 extra feet on the width if you are building something this nice. You will be happy you did, trust me!
Looks great, however!

A couple things:

Use one big garage door instead of two smaller one's. And install the biggest man door available in the back. That way you can open all the doors when the weathers nice out, and you can air it out quickly when doing grinding, sandin, painting, etc.

Using scissor trusses? This will give you enough ceiling height to put in a lift. If you buy one of the four post models that has rollers you can roll it to the center and lift the car at the roof truss peak.

Good start, but depending on your pocket book, 1. raise the height of the building to drive the RV into it 2. make the storage as long as the bldg.with an area just for the compressor and other noise maker machines. 3. add shower to restroom. 5. and as stated before use skinny scissor trusses and add the back doors.

Well, now that I am awake, there are some other things I thought about.
Two garage doors is the way to go if you run your joists from one side to the other and plan on stick building an attic space up above. The space between the doors would be the load bearing post to support the beam you would need to run from front to back. Of course you could run the joists front to back and have the beam go from side to side allowing one wide door.
Save some money and omit the window on the RV side due to the big overhang and that an RV would be blocking the view. (and light)
Move the bathroom back to the storage space area, but tack it onto the space you already have. (On the left, heading out to the storage space.) If you made it as deep as the storage space, you have the room to add that shower...
On the inside of the garage (opposite the bathroom wall), have a sink with an eye washing station. Maybe skip putting in a bathroom window. Just another area where someone could get in.
I'm sure you'll end up with a way-cool space. Enjoy the ride!

Ideas

Adopt me ~ I need a new garage....... :p

I have to agree with the shower addition , even the most basic one in a corner will come in very handy before you know it .

As you finalize the building plans , consider posting them here that others may have a good idea of what to do .

Back in the 1920's Brand 'F' published a very good little booklet on how to design and construct a small workshop on your farm that was *just* right to maintan your Equipments , last thing I knew it was still being reproduced and is prolly worth a look for ideas .

Thanks good tips

Thanks All I am making it bigger. I like the idea of eliminating the windows on the RV side. I am using engineered truss system to eliminate poles. I have a storage loft in the back, as I don't want to become a pack rat. Again thanks for the input. Hoping to have this and house done by Thanksgiving.

Thanks but bad news

Thanks all for the tips. We had our house sold, moved out, etc. and closing happened successfully. But the certified bank check for nearly half million was a counterfeit. All is well we were able to get the police to the house, change locks, etc.

The big implication is we will move back in and settle there for the foreseeable future. Life is interesting.

Incredible story !

Denis

Glad you discovered the transaction check whas a counterfit in time . Hope the police catches the bad guys ? This really sucks but i am glad to hear you guys are doing fine. Life is mistereous in many ways but i`ll hope that your dreams of having your new place in the future comes through :) Its good to take your time on this.

Take care Martinius.
