i have always wanted a 1957 chevy truck and finally found one i liked for sale . it has the aftermarket power steering that mounts outboard of the frame rail and is currently undriveable as there is too much deadplay in steering wheel to drive it . it has a mid 80's steering column in it and every thing looks tight but still too much deaplay in wheel . have also tried tightening steering gear play by turning the allen headed shaft on top of gear in afew turns ,still no improvement .i am out of ideas and looking for some help .does any one out there have the rack and pinion setup on thier truck ,if so ,how does it perform . thanks in advance
