    Headline: "Chevy's S-10 pickup makes a Comeback"

In this fast paced world, there seems to be something sweeping the nation. Chevy's mid sized pickup known as the S10. It seems that more and more people find these little primitive trucks all too attractive. And for a mere $750,000 you too can take one home. Accordingly to Kevin Knight, president of "Really Old but Cool Stuff" they are really easy to find. There is one problem though. Most of them don't have front ends, victims of what Knight describes as the senseless slaughter of them by something called "Baby Boomers". Our records don't go back that far, but Knight says that there are still some half crazed boomers around. "Not to worry though", Kevin says because he knows that old BMW front ends work really well. "2005 BMW are a really good fit, although you will have to turn the steering wheel using your hands. Nothing like today's technology where all of have to do is look in the direction and the vehicle responds accordingly." We were treated to a tour of his facilities right outside of Nashville. The highlight of the tour was an odd vehicle that he desribed as a 1960 Chevrolet Impala, that he claims one day will run if he figures out the conversion from something he referred to as gasoline to the hydrogen fusion propulsion fuels of today.

    What are you smokin'

    Ken,
You must have got a shipment from Colombia for Christmas.

Seriously, I wonder if the unending turmoil n the Mideast will eventually drive the cost of gas so high that we will be forced into an alternative fuel that will eventually make it difficult for us to continue to drive our old trucks. I reckon we willalways be able to get gas but what will the formula look like and how much will we have to pay? Will a Sunday afternoon drive be all we can afford on our old trucks? Let's see, by 2036 I will be 80. Yeah, if I am here I will still be driving my 48.

Let's all pinky swear to keep up with fuel application retro trend systems (That's FARTS for people that write like Nate :D ) so we can keep our stuff rolling, K? Ken, I gotta admit- that was a GREAT piece of literature!!!!

    This Just In........

This is Kevin Knight reporting from the Tennessee Insane Asylum. Their is a report that Kenneth Paschall was admitted today for the reason of "HE'S LOST HIS DAMN MIND". Man you're crazy. Good writing and great imagination. When I read this at work yesterday I just started cracking up. Boy did I need the laugh yesterday. I think all the crazy people in the world that drive beamers were in the shop yesterday.

Let's see by the year 2036 I'll be......... Wow as old as you guys are!!!!:eek What a scary thought.:D 56 years old.

Trust me the S-10 I don't think will ever make a great comeback. I drive one every day and the only thing I think it would be useful for is for the frame to go under another street rod. Now he BMW on the other hand is fun to drive no matter under a street rod or just left bone stock.

I guess I could baffle you guys with some more off the wall things our BMW's do that I would love to incorporate in these old trucks if I could just figure out how to do it a little more simple. Our transmissions on a few cars have no shift linkage on automatics it's just an electrical lever that tells the tranny what gear to go into and push a button for park. Our manual transmissions in the "M" cars don't have a clutch pedal. This is called Sequitial Manual Transmission(SMG). When you pull the paddle back to up shift or down shift then the trans contol unit will take away the throttle signal and push the clutch in for you. This is made for quicker shifting. We also have keyless technology where you don't have to have the key out or hit a remote to get in the car, just walk right up to the locked car and pull ont he door handle and it will unlock as long as the key is in your pocket, then get in the car and hit the start button while the key is STILL in your pocket.(This is one thing that is going on my truck. I'm not going to have a key at all to my truck only a remote to open the door and putting a push button start system in it). Also we have what is called active roll and active steering. The active roll is a hydraulic sway bar that aplies pressure to the opposing side of the vehicle as the turn you are going into. It keeps the car flat at all times. Same concept as the F-1 cars have. (I have one of these sway bars put back that I took off of a car. The only problem with it is they have a one way ckeck valve in them that goes bad, but they always want us to replace the whole thing). I might try and make this work on my truck, don't know we'll see. The active steering is electronic steering that only allows you to turn the steering wheell 3/4 of a turn and it is going from lock to lock. Very awesome to drive this type of car. I could go on and on but then I'd just be rambling. I thought I'd give you guys something else to think about. Love the thread Ken, very funny.

I don't know Ken, in my opinion the S-10 is a lost cause. Don't get me wrong my truck does okay, it gets me back and forth to work, but that's about it. Horrible gas mileage, no room, can't get out of it's own way, forget pulling anything with it. This is my second one I've owned. The first time, shame on GM, the second time shame on me for buying another.

I'll get the butt messager bladders on the way along with the appropriate seat module to control it. I'll even throw in the heated and A/C seats at no charge.;)

Now the steppenwolf and led zeplin I can handle when I'm working on the truck, but when I'm at a show I want it to be blasting songs from the 50's. That's dad's favorite and you know he'll be settin right beside me. Also I play the drums and my band instructor grew up listening to the 70's rock, so guess what we played at all the ball games. You guessed it 70's rock. So not only do I know who these guys are and what they play. I myself can play some of their music. So NOW who needs to keep up!!!!:D

    Sigh .

BMW's fancy schmancy tranny is nothing new , ever hear of ' Saxomat ' ? or maybe ' Sport O Matic ' ? those were the versions used by VW (Saxomat in 1961 !) and Porshe back in the dayze.....

    I liked the writing , I hope Ken makes his escape O.K. ! .
