I just bought a (NOS Chevy Henry J Kaiser Stainless Steel Gas Cap) no ebay, on the underside it is stamped MEXICO on it, did they make Chevy NOS parts in the 40 and 50's in MEXICO? Thanks Chuck
Instead of New Old Stock, maybe they were referring to one of the many other uses of the three letter acronyms for NOS including these: NADPH-diaphorase Nanos National Occupational Standards National Ocean Service National Ocean Survey National Oceanic Service National Open School National Operating Services National Operational Satellite National Osteoporosis Society NATO Office of Security Naval Ocean Systems Naval Ordnance Station Neos Network Operating System Network Operating Systems Network Operation System Network Operations System network operators Network Optimization Support Network OS Networking Operating System Nevada Ophthalmological Society New Orleans Square Next On Stack Nicht Observation System nigerooligosaccharides Night Observation Scope Night Observation Surveillance Night observation system nitric oxide synthase nitric oxide synthase activity nitric oxide synthase inhibitor nitric oxide synthase isoforms nitric oxide syntheses nitric oxide synthesis nitric oxide synthesizing enzyme Nitric oxide synthetase nitric oxides nitrogen oxide synthase no organisms seen NO synthase NO synthases NO synthetase Nodal Operating System nopaline synthase nopaline synthase gene Norsk Opsjonssentral Nosing Not of Specific Origin Not on Schedule not on staff Not Otherwise Specified Not Otherwised Specified Nothing Of Significance nucleolar targeting signal nucleolus organizers Numbering Organizations
You Got Hosed The correct fuel filler cap was the same PN from 1937 to 1970 so hit up some older dealers , most have 'em dusty way on a back shelf , if you can find the old guy who either knows where or is willing to go look.... I don't like the original painted caps so I always order up a nice shiny Stainless Steel one from STANT , Pep-Boys etc. will be cheap , they'll prolly have to order it though .
