nv4500

    has anyone out there ever put a nv4500 trany up to a 235. I have a 61 C-20and was wanting to put this in and if anyone has what year trany did you use. any input would be greatly appreciated.

    I'm pretty sure it will bolt right up, typical SBC bellhousing. I don't know much about the 2wd NV4500's however the 4x4 models suffer from oiling issues which result in early failure of 4th and 5th gear. May want to research the details before spending your cash and having something go wrong.

    I'm also looking into replacing my 700r4 with a 5 speed... not sure what I'm going to use yet but was thinking about a tremec/kreissler, pretty pricey though.

    I put one of these in my 59. I love it! Keisler was pretty good to work with too.

    Thanks for your recommendations. I will be back in the states next month for good. I am retiring from the navy and looking forward to get back to work on the truck, it should be ready from the body shop and I can start on the drive line will post pics when I get there.
