    Not very ;

    It's a snug slip fit , if it doesn't leak oil out where the pipe fits into the hed , you're good .

    Hi Nate,
    that's the problem why I ask. Oil is coming out at the ground of the pipe. I stick the pipe into the hole and I could stick it about 7 -10 mm deep.
    If I assemble the rocker shaft and the oil connecter, the pipe is only about 3mm deep in the hole.
    Happy new year

    Yep ;

    3MM isn't deep enough .

    BTW : on my computer the tube looks like it's home made of copper , this will crack and fail soon , it should be a steel tube , 10MM insertion is good .

    :D Hi Nate,
    I thought also it is copper, but it is steel.
    I'll cut the pipe put one end into the hole in the head and take a copper tube put it over the bottom end and over the end near by the rocker shaft and will both ends braze with the copper tube.

    Top End Oiling

    O.K. , how about some better (? closer ?) pictures of it then ? .

    Remember : anytime the engine is off idle , oil should weep out of the little hole in the middle of each and every rocker ir you have a BIG PROBLEM .

    Hi Nate,
    I'll will write about the experince how it works. The holes in the rocker arms are all open, I checked this while cleaning them with a driller. There where only in two arms plugs.

    It works

    :D:D
    After I had cut the oil pipe and braze it with a copper tube all oil comes out the rocker arms. I put the oil connector with Curil (seal paste) in the hole.

    Oiler

    O.K. , it looks like you're done now .

    The original idea was to have the upper part of the tube cross up and over so if any excess oil (yet , it happens) comes up the pipe , it is discharged back down the side of the head into the tappet chamber instead of sloshing 'round the rockerbox and leaking or getting sucked into the valve guides and creating excssive smoke . over the years Chevy went back and forth with pinching it closed or leaving it open , differing size outlet etcetera .

    The feed pipe is supposed to be a friction fit into the cyliner head , I never , ever use sealants on oil supply joints as it only takes a tiny ball of sealant to ruin and engine .

    If it's working well , leave it be and enjoy, your truck is coming right along .
