Does anyone know how many quarts of oil a 235 engine take? It has an oil filter fastened to the manifold. I used to know 30 years ago. I am not sure where cap on the oil stick is supposted to stop and may have 2-qts to much in it. Thanks

Willard, IIRC, the crankcase capacity is a little over 5 quarts. Depending on what kind of canister filter you've got, it will take either 1 or 2 additional quarts. The S-6 type filter, which uses an AC P-115 cartridge needs 1 quart. The S-2 type filter, which uses an AC P-117 cartridge, needs 2 quarts.

    Thanks Ken

Thanks Ken! I am not sure if my dip stick is original, but think the oil pan is correct. I guess I will put in 5-qts and mark the stick.
