    [updated:LAST EDITED ON May-08-04 AT 02:10 AM (CST)]Hi everybody.
I have a 350 v8 under the hood. Seems to run good. The problem is that it's always covered in oil. Oil steams out from the breather caps on the valve cover and oil neck when I drive.
    What gives?
I imagine I can replace the breather on the valve cover, and send the air to the filter on the carb, but then I'll have to change that filter too much.
    Thanks for your help.

Heres whats going on. You need to have a pcv valve. Newer motors can build up a lot of pressure in the crankcase when running. When the pistons go up and down the bottom side of the piston is also producing pressure or compression, So if there isnt proper ventilation it will find all the weak gaskets and blow air and oil right past them. My brother in law put in a ZZ4 motor and put 2 breather/filters. The motor was tight but the nice edelbrock fuel pump wasnt and leaked oil like crazy. He installed a PCV and all was fine..hope this helps.
