I have the original wheels for my truck. They are painted gray and have not been on the truck since the late 1970s. If I were to put them back on the truck, what color should they be? Should they match the body color? Also, I don't have hubcaps for them. Which hubcaps are correct for the 1953?

You should paint then the color YOU like ! .

    Me , I like red wheels .

DeLuxe trucks had color matched wheels .

The original hubbies were , well , fugly even when chromed on the DeLuxe models , I vote you should figure out which old hubbies you like and buy a nice set of re-pops and enjoy them .

I like the Art Deco hubbies fitted from 1941 ~ 1947 so that's what's on my truck , I get many favorable comments .

I know lots of guys like the 1939 Passenger car hubbies too .

If you decide to go with the fugly originals , they were grey unless DeLuxe , either way a nice touch is to pain the letters to match your body's primary color...
