we have a place in the country and i found a salvage yard with several AD's all in different levels of decay . saw many items that i am interested in getting but dont have a clue on prices , thought i could get help here before negotiating. found what appears to be a complete heater unit, perfect steering wheel, good wheels wit clips. many other items i wont bother to list now, sorry didnt think to take pics again, and if anyone is looking for a particular item let me know and i will be returning and give a look, take pics and post them

Look ijn catalogs to see what prices are, then don't give but about half....you will have a lot of work in cleaning/ painting, whatever. Weird pieces usually don't bring much so many places charge minimally. Take some time to shoot the rfertilizer with the guy up front, usually he will go a little easier on you. Feel the guy out, some bargain, but most give their prices and thats it. Some of these get insulted if you try to talk them down. You can start out with just a piece or two, then keep coming back. They appreciate the business and get to know you, then they work with you.

    those parts aint worth

just a story I once heard about a guy who owned a yard customer came in looking for tail lights fora some car mentioned how he could not find them anywhere when the owner of hte yard said he had a pair and sent a guy to take them off and showed them to teh customer he customer got a bit huffy and said they werent worth the price he was asking mentioned pits and yadda yaddda the yard owner asked fro them back so he could see the flaws in them, he then proceded to throw them to the brick wall at the end of the counter and turned to the customer ( who was teary eyed by now) and said your right fella then lights aint worth sh@#"
Like Ol Chebby said feel the guy out first then negotiate
