O.K., I'm doing the paint on the 53. I have the interior...metallic grey, 53 and up specific. The steering column is the grey/brown, like all years. In the engine bay, I know the firewall is painted body color, the fenderwells are a satin or simigloss black as well as the core support. What color is the hood latch panel? I have the grey engine color, what are the accessories such as the pulleys, road draft tube, distributor, coil and coil mount? I'm assuming they are black. I have the ac oil filter, yellow body and black top. The Fram is orange and black. Are things like the throttle linkage painted or bare? What color is the transmission? The shift linkage?

I found the paint codes on the stovebolt website, but have found no list of what all is painted what and what is left bare. We should put together a guide.

Have you ever heard of the old can of worms?

How big is your can opener? The collective group will not agree on very many of these.:p

I'll start. AC oil filters that are yellow and black are nice. However, in '53 they were blue and orange. Go to my "Member's Gallery" pics for a picture of one, new, never been used, still in the original box. Pulleys, road draft tube, coil on mine are black. Original? Beats me. Looks good. Coil mount? Original metal color. Again, don't know. Looks good.

Here's a link to my engine and oil filter pictures.
