Does anyone have experience with the "original" color acrylic enamel paint supplied by Jim Carter for exterior and interior AD trucks? It is signifigantly less expensive that what the local PPG dealer can mix it for. I'm only interested in painting my cab interior and some small touch up to the exterior original wheels and wood bed steel for now. Larry
Ken, Did you use the CP Engine paint as well? I was looking at your pics the other day, and wow, I really like the looks of that engine. Thanks, Howard
experience with acryl paint i restored 3 cars since 2003 and my experience with acryl paint is: dryed very fast and very shining BUT after 5 years the surface was very hard and brittle. I found a lot of hairline cracks (look against the sun on the surface) because the body is working on the frame. Also the new "water paint" brings not the perfect result. My painter said to me, use old paints with a lot of solvent for best results.(not good for enviroment but for sheet metal ) I can't give a recommendation for paint or vendor because the German paint is different to your Paint.
