The detent isn't catching the spur gear on my parking brake. I can rotate it into place with my finger and release it with the trigger button. Does anyone know if there is a spring in there or does it rely on gravity to latch? Contrinador '57 short bed
maybe try disconnecting the parking brake cable and soak the gear assembly with wd40.I'm pretty sure that there is a spring-might just be stuck instead of broken.In any event this assembly is easy to find used(one on e-bay now)
