I am not 100% shore if the ignition timing device and the vacume regulator is excactly identicall in the 216 or 235 engine but i think they are , tell me if i am wrong? Pertronix has a variety of products but i dont have any experiences with or knowledge about the ignitor 1 or 2. remember Nate mentioned the poduct a while ago, but it just slipped my mind posting a question around the products.Has anyone of you any user experiences and which of the Ignitor models can be used in the 216 or 235 CI engine? There should be a small tag riveted to the distributor housing with a number on it. Give Pertronix this number and they will send you exactly what you need. I did this with my old Buick, forklift, and a friends 55 Chevy which are all still running trouble free many years later. Saying good-bye to points has been nice.
Martinus how many miles will you averae a year? A set of points last a long long time. A old Chevy is made to tinker with. As soon as presedent Obama sends me my stimulas check I plan dual carbs
Hey there WillardGreen (SIGPIC). Norway is a country where future Co2 restrictions will harm owners of veteran automobiles hard because the country politics follows EU or EØS derectives a lot.EU has although Norway is not a member a lot of influince and why you might ask? Gasoline prices are nowerdays aprox.12 nkr. ( 1dollar = 6.50 nkr) and not to high fore norwegian standards. On the long term i think it is good economy to do some small aprovements with my truck engine.A litle better here, and a litle better of that. The Patricks Fenton dual intake kit is also one of my future improvement projects . It looks nice and as i understand it also gives some real improvements, but it costs a lot of money right? I`ll hope Obama looks in your direction when you need the money for that. He is still a kind a Saint nowerdays spending so much money to get the econemy back in order again in your enormous states , we`ll see what happens on the long term? A true story, i remember Obama whas very generous towards a US/norwegian woman on the airport whom did`nt have anough money to pay for luggage overweight , and he gave here the 120 dollars she needed without crediting here for that, a nice guy. I`ll hope you get along with your plans of improvement. What kind of carbs are you planning to use combined with the dual intake? Have a nice day Martinius.
I want an Offenhauser. When I was a kid Offenhauser was big in racing. I will use a Rodchester carburetor. I considered the Petronics but a set of points and condenser is cheap and can be carried in the glove box. I bought this truck for my 15 year old son because I wanted him to understand the basics and I learned to drive on one. We have had ours 2 years and have driven it close to 2,000 miles. Is gasoline priced by the Liter in Norway? Gasoline prices are unstable in America. So far older cars are not are not regulated in "Dixieland" / Southern USA. We dont even have to buy tags after we get an antique tag/license plate.
Pertronix Ignitior That's what you want , give them the distributor's part number to get the right Ignitor for your engine . You'll need to know of you want 6 or 12 volt applicatrion . The Pertronix ignitor will make your truck run better and start easier hot or cold , idle is much better and fuel economy goes up whilst emissions go down ~ it's a win-win situation , I have them on some of my oldies and they work great *if* you follow the instructons .

Offenhauser has great performence. Your son is a lucky young man driving this truck, it looks cool. Its great doing things like that together and to stimulate old truck intrests to the next generation, keep on trucking!! Gasoline prices are`nt that bad in Norway and they keep the same level/price pr.liter mostly, as we are a oil producing nation. It whas Shell Conoco/Redair whom started the oil adventure outside the cost of Stavanger in the Northsea in 1966 drilling there first big oilwell. Thanks guys for your contribution Martinius.
