Pilot bushing for a V6 305ci

Hi all,
I’m in need of a pilot bushing for the 305ci V6
I have been all over the internet and all i keep coming up with is the wrong bushing. The one everyone says i need is way to small to fit the crank shaft.
Any help would be appreciated

You didn't say what year and unfortunately my books (1955-60 GMC Master Parts Book) only go through the 1st year of 305 engines. But I'd bet your life that later 305s use the same bearing. It is part number 907109, commonly known as a 7109. It is available as both a bearing and a bushing. Same bearing was used in 1939-1962 GMC 228/236/248/256/270/302 six cylinder engines as well as Pontiac (and Pontiac based GMC) V8 engines starting in 1955. If you get the bearing version make sure you get one that is sealed on both sides.

It’s a 66 but the factory put it in the 67 I’m restoring. All the bushings i find are way too small for that crank shaft.

So what is the ID of the hole in the crankshaft that the bushing should go into? And what is the OD of the tip of the tranny input shaft that should fit inside the bushing?

shows 3 different bushings (and their measurements) for 1967 305 engines. Some of the same numbers are listed for the 57 GMC 270" six and 347" V8 as I stated before. Maybe someone cut the hole in the end of the crank larger because it had been damaged, and then used a different bushing?

The od is 1.3 and the id is .59. I typed in the part number you gave and it brought up a bushing that fits both ways but is shorter in depth. I figure it will work just the same. Now i have to find me some 67 dog dishes..

If you have the EXACT od, id, and thickness any machine shop can turn one out of oil lite bronze stock. For a bearing search "bearings by size" and look on the listed charts for the correct bearing. Your problem is easily solved so now locate me a RR front spring hanger for a 1909 International High Wheeler. The glove has been tossed down!
