Once all passthroughs were drilled into or installed in the 52's firewall, there were several unused holes left that didn't look real clean. Vintage Air sent one square plastic part that I guess was meant to blank off some of them on the passenger side, but it reminded me of a bucket lid, and didn't fit the look at all. Was going to polish up some aluminum sheet and make some blankoff panels to attach on the firewall face, but then remembered I had some factory-reject mirror finish plexiglass out in the storage shed. Quite a bit of the sheet had scuff marks or damage, but there was plenty to cut these small panels out of that was pretty good. Attached them with 3M trim and weatherstrip adhesive, and they really dress it up...

Had to make two holes in the passenger side; one for an A/C mounting bolt and one for a wire bundle passthrough. I kept templates of the shapes I cut to fit around the center body contour...if anyone is interested in doing something similar, let me know...this could save a bit of time.

Looks nice, this is what I did with mine and I also have AC but I ran my hoses through the side panel instead of the fire wall The material I used was 22Ga. bright annealed stainless steal, the kind that is used to jacket tanker trailers...Big Tim:cool: tims pics 025.jpg

Certainly a clean install, Big Tim...a thing o' beauty. Can't see the compressor in that pic, but I'm assuming its on the passenger side, and you routed straight out through the inner fender and then back through the firewall beneath the inner fender? Pretty nice!
