I have a 1954 head and a 1959 block and I have read that you need to drill a center head bolt with a 1/16 in hole to get the oil to the rockers. But it also talks about a plug that needs to be installed because the internal oil porting is different. Does Anyone know where to get this plug and exactly where it is installed. From the side , or the top , or not at all Any help would be great. Thanks

    Late 235 Cylinder Head

Just go buy a good used 235 head , the casting # near the left top front will end with " 848 " ~ that's the last one made and it's a *very* good head .

Up in Paso Robles is a guy selling all manner of 235 parts , he'll have one for you .

I passed two on them recently in the local Pick-A-Part but I'll never again buy a good used vintage cylinder head on spec ~ I had too many lying 'round my back yard I can't get rid of now  .(not 216/235/261 heads !)

IIRC , that '54 235 head is a one year only deal and should be worth over $150 once it's magnafluxed and guaranteed crack free .

Joe here , AKA ' Mothertrucker ' has plenty in stock in Arizona , kinda $pendy on the shipping to Ca. tho ' .
