poping and sputtering

    Hi everyone i just got done with me engine swap i put a 235 in my 51 chevy. Got it running and it ran great drove it to work and town a few times. but yesterday on my way to work i got about half way there, good thing its only 6 miles, and it started to sputter and pop and it seems to do this after its been running and goin down the road a mile or 2 but you push in the clutch and it idles just fine but under throttle it will miss. Any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated. jake

    Check spark , points for pitting and condeser for breakdown as it gets hot , this is very common .

    Then and _only_ then , can you move on and fiddle with the carby .

    You might give the vacuum advance a look while you are in the distributor too.
