I have a 1996 chevy and was wondering when does power steering fluid wear out? and was is a good replacement fluid.
as long as it doesnt leak and you keep the resevoir full then you shouldnt ever have to worry about it. and from what ive experienced you dont really have to be very picky on power steering fluid. the cheap stuff works just fine for me
If you look @ your owner manual it should tell you when they say if should be changed. After years it can pick up moisture, normal wear shaving, if it smells burnt, most People do not changes power steering pump oil or the brake fluid for too long of a time or never. But it up to each person on their car/ truck. Around same timeing of thebrakes or clutch fluid about around ever two years or 24 x 1,000 km.
