Powerglide to 700r4 swap with 283

Help! New project, I love this truck. Everthing works, has rebuilt 283 and powerglide. Only problem it has 3.73 posi rearend and SUCKS gas at freeway speeds. So I need to swap the tranny with O/D. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have no clue how to do this. Thanks in advance...

You`ll need to change flex plate with a dual pattern one from summit, either buy new or used trans crossmember from a suburban `72 to `85, remove your exsisting crossmember and replace with new one, you`ll also need to change your E-brake pivot mount to a new location. Shorten drive shaft, possibly change your front u-joint. Buy or make a switch for the over drive.
