what are the torque specs on my 1948 1/2 ton presherplate bolts.i have had problems finding this in manuals.i asome 40 ft. lbs. thanks
Clutch Cover Bolt Torque IIRC , 38# so you're dead on . Me , I just tighten each one 1 360° turn at a time , going round & round until they're all tight then I bang the stub of the 3/8" drive ratchet handle with my fist until the flywheel turns a bit ~ I've never had one come loose yet . Taking the time to draw the pressure plate up evenly , makes the new clutch last as long as the original one did... I hope you remembered to wash the metal friction surfaces down with ether , brake or electro - contact cleaner before buttoning it up ? .
