Problems with bed supports

Back in the shop working on my 1960, and can't figure out where the bed rail supports go. I looked in my LMC catalog and i have the correct bed rail supports. My problem is the inside measurement of the bed is 50 inches wide. But the rail supports are only 49 1\2 inches wide. I have posted the pictures to show my issue

Perhaps the bed sides are simply bowed out slightly? Here's a photo of my '65 stepside short bed back when I first got it. Your's being a '60 has the x-frame so things are a bit different.

That was really quick thank you for the pic. I don't have any of the supports that run length wise only width.
