Has anyone else had problems with LMC chrome parts rusting? My chrome tailgate chain sets started rusting almost immediately. I had them replaced and, within two weeks, the replacements are rusting too. I've also got rust on my new chrome mirrors and it looks like a couple of rust spots are starting to form on the new door handles. The bumpers are fine. They were they "premium" triple chrome bumpers.

I'm going to get the polished SS tailgate chain sets from another vendor.

It's frustrating... I like the look of chrome on black.

    lmc sucks!

I purchased a gas tank from lmc last year and they sent me one that was to big and they would not return it because of the oversized shipping. I have also bought weatherstripping that fit very bad.

I have the same problems. If you look at the chrome pieces you can tell it is really thin and poor quality and that is from all these suppliers. The only remedy is to have your part chromed at a good plating shop. The only problem is it is pricey. That is why Harley chrome parts cost so much they are usually top quality.

I have purchased the reproduction chrome grille from LMC and Classic Parts, only to discover both of them rusting on the back side in less than a year. I am ok with the front needing to be polished or waxed on a regular basis, but to have the unit rust from the back is ridiculous. They even have some rust on the front on the top portion of the lower cross bar. At first, I could correct it with some OO steel wool, but now it is through the overseas chrome plating.

Save your money for a good, used factory anodized aluminum grille, because they won't rust and maybe the suppliers of this junk will demand better quality from their overseas manufacturers.

I bought the polished stainless steal chain sets from Brothers (they have them on sale right now, almost 1/2 off regular price). They look as nice as the chrome chains and no rust. They've already done better than the chrome sets I got at LMC.

LMC is refunding the money I paid, including return shipping.

    LMC Chrome

My LMC chrome grille, headlight bezels, and both bumpers are rusting already and the tuck is parked in the garage. Just washed it a few times. Even the headlight bezel screws are rusting. Chains are OK for now but I don't expect them to last. Ditto on US chrome vs. wherever the heck they get these parts done. I have two Harleys both got every piece of chrome you can put on them that's in the H-D catalog and not a speck yet one is '98 and the other is '05...

Have they improved in the last two years? Does not look like it!

I just spent $298 on interior parts that don't fit. After over 15 e-mails (including photos which they requested) and 3 phone calls (including a call to give them my VIN # which they demanded) , I have not been able to get a return call to address the fitment issue in 16 days. Was going to buy some chrome parts, roll pan and carpeting from them but this reinforces my bad experience.

Our Sponsor, Classic Parts of America, has always pulled through for me. http://www.classicparts.com/

When I first bought my truck back in July of 2008 I got schooled the hard way about the Long Motor Corporation

Don't Buy From LMC, Support Our Sponsor

And don't forget.... Classic Parts offers a 10% discount if you use the promo code "STOVEBOLT" when you order.

Wow, that looks good. Is that clear powdercoat over chrome, or faux chrome powdercoat? I am searching for a cost effective coating for my front bumper and this has me intrigued.

    Thanks for posting.
