Put the old aluminum rims back on the truck and added another spare to have two as I had with the white spoke rims. Had a lot of folks say They did not like the look of the truck with the shiny white rims on it, so I put the aluminum ones back and while I was at the tire shop getting the switch done two different people came up to voice they did not like the billet look, so with a smile I told them to pound sand up their ass if they liked they could give me 20K and do whatever they wanted to her.. I'm going to go look at getting my split rims some fat tires and put them on painted Allis Chalmers Orange and see what kind of shit I get :). Truthfully, the talk is fun just pissin off those that want it, or want to influence what I do to it. What I find interesting is no one wants it painted but they want to bitch about the rims.

Well, that tread pattern is just backwards, and who decided on the color to paint your house, and what is going on in your landscaping?
You will never run out of people willing to voice their nonsense. Perhaps it makes them feel better. Just realize that they noticed your ride and were inspired to talk about it.

I like it with shiny wheels.
I liked it with white wheels.
I like the old worn paint look.
I would like it if it was flawless base/clear new paint...
But, my opinion doesn't really matter, because it's your truck.

Thanks for all the photos at different angles, looks like a great old western straight body truck.

    Deep Thoughts.......

"Let me never fall into the vulgar mistake of dreaming that I am persecuted whenever I am contradicted."
    ― Ralph Waldo Emerson

I like the fact that all 6 wheels match, and the contrast of the aluminum vs. the patina looks good too... FWIW

All the young punks and new OEM stuff nowadays seems to roll on black wheels... I guess that's ghetto chic ?? I know as a certified / qualified old fart I prefer shiney chrome or alloy over flat black or anything flat :) when it comes to rolling stock... also FWIW

No kidding, I saw a young teenage looking kid driving a new ZL-1 Camaro the other day. The wheels on that $60000 dollar car were flat black. I couldn't tell where the wheel met the tire!

How does a kid get a ZL-1? I'm not doing something right.

Have you seen the "new" Z/28? Ghetto wheels, huge wheels, rubber band tires... aaarrrggghhh! All the bolted on factory plastic reminds me of the late 70's Camaro's and Firebirds.

That being said.. it's a truly awesome performance piece, but some old school cool would go a long way.

$75,000. 160+MPH in the rain, super Camaro!!! I'd rather have this than a Corvette any day. Always liked muscle cars better than sports cars.
There is another Chevy video of a ZL-1 vs. Z-28 at the same track. Z-28 wins, but, ZL-1 has a faster top speed.
Thats why I want to stuff an LS3 engine in my truck. (and that Morrison GT chassis).

    Steve,
These threads take a life of their own once in awhile before they get back to topic.

    Thanks Nate,

I still may mount the split-rims with something wide but fits them and paint the rims Orange or rust brown, with the hub caps from 48.
I am going to have to bring over some more stuff that will not make it at the property in Az. Will call and get a time frame soon.

    Joe,
As soon as I get the modifications to the grille finished and painted to look like it does now. Then it and the other two single guards can be put on it.

    Thanks Paul,

The work never stops on the trucks and it is good to know others like what has been done.

    Charles,
You are definitely a person of individual thought and a gem to this site with an obvious appreciation of a variety of interests. Your posts are always looked forward to since they are so expansive on many topics. Fortunately we have a web master that allows us to diverse a bit which I think is good. On some, like the H.A.M.B, if you stray from what they think of as "traditional" your post is rejected. If your truck was a cookie cutter 350/350 or a MII/9" then it just wouldn't be you. Keep the old Bitties stirred up---forever.

    Thanks Evan,
The threads keep this site moving and the members coming back. I have seen a few threads which never got back on topic but that happens very little.
