Hi guys I am new to this so I am assuming this is the place to go to get help.
I am hoping to stand on the shoulders of those who have succeeded in restoring your trucks.
With that said , I have a basket case of a 66 C-10 that I got from my father in law.
I have stripped it to the bare bones and I am ready to redo.
I want to drop it and take out the tired and neglected straight six and add a 383 stroker motor and T-400.
Is there parts available to mount the motor and tranny or will I have to relocated and fabricate or both.
    your help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Welcome!! You can get a tranny crossmember from here, and the motor mounts you can get those aftermarket too. I think Classic Parts might have the motor mounts here too.

Yep, lots of transmission cross members available. Since you're going with a SBC, the motor mounts are readily available in both tubular form and stamped steel these days. You're smarter than me and not installing a Pontiac. :D

Since you are starting from scratch did you think about a 700R4 swap. Ask the people in this forum that have done it, it is well worth the money. And with $400.00 a drop gas it will pay for itself.

The 700r4 swap is a pretty simple swap. Have your driveshaft shortened, move the crossmember back, and hooked up the linkage. With mine I ordered a painless wiring kit that allows the converter to lock up.

Wow!! thanks for the responses. I knew I came to the right place
When you say the tranny mount is available "HERE".
    Where is here.
What kind of HP will a 700r4 handle and what are the specs on it.
    Is that a better tranny?

The crossmember 62 short step noted in the link is the one I'm using. It's the easiest to mount and position. I'm also running a 700R4 transmission. I'm having it built to handle about 550 bhp and 600 lb-ft of torque. Good luck.
