I swaped out the voltage regulator and horn relay and all of a sudden I'm getting no power to start with .

I think I grounded the Voltage reg to the body, should it have grounded to the horn relay?

My head lights also were not working before that, all fuses ok constant power there. What perplexed me is the red wire off the battery did not show that it was hot. Can anyone help me and my ugly truck straighten this out.
    thanks in advance

There was black wire coming off the regulators metal frame, factory threaded,
any idea what the reason for that is. also What is the potential problems if you were to ground the Voltage regulator?

    thanks for your insight.

Head lights had a broken wire in the harness inside the cab were it comes in from the plug off the fire wall, had to bypass the dead zone. lost the high beams somehow.
