:( Finally getting to putting things back together and found out my radiator support has bad rust in the botton area. The rust is causing the doubler to push the frame out of shape as the rust is in between the metal pieces. Probably not unexpected for an old farm truck I guess.
My problem is the aftermarket vendors sell a replacement but it comes with fender braces that I don't need and without a top bar with the captive nuts that I do need. Plus the cost is around $300 dollars. Does anyone know of a vendor that just sells the replacement "U" section.
I subscribe to the "parts wanted" and "for sale" forums but haven't seen any of these for sale. On another note mine has several cross bar braces welded in. Was this stock? or has someone done some additional handiwork.
    Thanks

I know that this is off topic but I thought I would ask a question sort of related to this topic.
The question is: when I put in an aftermarket radiator the round rods that that form the cross bracing on the radiator support are in the way. Can I remove these and still have the support needed to keep the front end stable??
The reason that this radiator doesnt fit is because it is sitting on an s-10 frame and I am lifting up the radiator enough to clear the power stearing ,now my drain pitcock hits one of the rods.
    Thanks

Yes , you can delete them but they do help keep things from flexing as you go down uneven roads .
