Good day, I am installing a 350hp sbc into my 65 short step. I am looking for a replacement rediator as mine in not repairable. I plan on pulling trailers and daily driving and have been told that a "4 core Desert cooler from US radiator" is the way to go.

That would be your best bet as you are towing. Don't forget a trans cooler if you have an automatic.

    Thanks Dval,

is a 4 core radiator really necessary? or can I get away with a 3 core.
Also is it necessary to use an electric fan or will an engine fan be adequate?

A 3 Core Should Get The Job Done, But Remember, If You Spend A Little More Money Now, You Could Be Saving Yourself Alot In The Future. You Dont Need An Electric Fan As Long As Your Using The Fan Housing And A Good Fan, I Prefer A Steel Fan With A Clutch.

Make sure to get a tranny cooler in addition to the one in the radiator especially if you are installing a 700R4.

Thanks for your help guys. I just ordered a factory replacement 3 core radiator from a supplier in Canada. (its hard to find parts for these trucks in Canada, I'm limited to one supplier unless I want to pay a fortune)
I will get a fan shroud and good fan...

    Thanks again.
