Hello, I,m in the process of looking for a new radiator for my 1966 gmc.I,d like to put a aluminum but do I need that type,Or will a good brass one work as well.I,m putin in a 700r4 with a 383 stroker w/425 hp,It will not be used for towing. It will streekly be a daily driven SUMMER ride,Do I need a 2,3,or 4 core, and is a fan shruod and extra trans cooler a good investment. Also were is a good place to get a good radiator.Any sugestions on gear raito,I like to zip off the line.I don,t drive the freeway unles I have to.Yhanks for your support.Bruno.

The radiator that came in the GMCs was 4 core heavy duty. If you still have that then it should be OK.

Otherwise a replacement radiator as long as it's a 4 row core will be OK. Make sure you use a fan shroud, or a good electric puller with a fan shroud built in and cooling should not be a problem.
