Ok i have a 72 chevy custom deluxe with a 350, it originally had a turbo 400 tranny but it was cracked so we are tryng to put a turbo 350 in it but its not lining up right do i need a short-shaft or a long-shaft or what. the long shaft is about an inch too long even with the carrier adjusted all the way back. so we think we need a short-shaft and the carrier adjusted all the way forward. ANY IDEAS WOULD BE APPRECIATED. Thanks

Hi, as to your question, are you sure you have the torque convertor on the shaft all the way? there is no difference on the front side of 350 or 400 tranny's. The difference is on the tailshaft. There are long tailshafts and short tailshafts. Also the splines can be different for your driveshaft.
