I am looking at parts for the rear leaf springs in my 55 1st series. can someone please tell me the difference between 54 and 55 rear springs.

thanks
Andy

Up through '54 the trucks had an enclosed drive line, after they went to the open drive lines. Therefore the location of the rear diff is centered differently.

got that

I understand the enclosed, but what physicaly is different with the spring it self that it cant br used 54 to 55? just pin location for rear?

andy

The springs are same length and width. The differenece is the pin that holds the springs together and locates the rear end. The 55 1st spings have that pin pretty much dead center between the front and rear spring eyes. The torque tube version is I think mounted farther forward.
