I need to replace my rear shocks on the 51 half ton. I have one strut that is 2 inchs shorter than the other static. Any recommendations? I didn't find a lot when searching on this forum. Thanks, Dave.

Dave, most of your FLAPS will carry replacement shocks for your truck. NAPA part #94004, Monroe part #33049 to name a couple.

    Ken,

Don't put that parts book away yet! While your at it, what are the numbers of the front shocks? Mine is a '53 1/2 ton, I assume the rear are the same as the '51.

    Thanks,
    Howard

Howard, yes the rear shocks would be the same for the '53. The NAPA part# is NS 5826 for the front shocks for the '53.

    Be Smart !

And use gas charged shocks , they'll ride nice but make it handle better , last longer, be safer etc. , etc.

You can always peel the labels off and sprasy paint them black if the modern look offends you
