I don't know if all here have ever seen it , if you don't like it or think it's really wierd , remember it was made in 1972 and those were strange times to say the least  .

It was a low budget deal and Chrysler was horrified  when they saw the final print and refused to allow them the usual screen credits for using thier cars .

It was re made a few years ago , for TV , I saw that too , it was o.K. , not great .

If you liked it , look up " Crazy Larry & Dirty Mary " , another car chase movie , IIRC this one had Peter Fonda in it .

Also the first few years of Burt Reynolds movies tended to be basically car chase movies .

    Check the movie "Arthur"

At least I thinkthe title is Arthur. (Kid's movie about little pixies... My 7 year old daughter said, "Daddy, could you watch this with me?")
Just catch the first part of it. LOTS of 50ish panel Chevy truck with wide whites. I believe it was orange?
I think it even had our hosts side view mirrors on it.

Vanishing point was a Mopar cult film for years. Much was cut from the original film. There was supposed to be a scene where he dreamed that he met a woman with a huge hat. When he removed the hatm she was bald. This was supposed to symbolize him realizing his fate and knowing the chase was going to end in death. If you watch the end, you see that they actually crashed a Camaro. They actually removed the ebgine, and filled the engine compartment with the explosives needed for the final scene. They rigged it until it woul pull straight and ran a cable between the dozer blades. They pulled it using one of the 383 powered Challengers that was used in the filming. If you search the Mopar sites, you will find much info on that movie and I also agree that Dirty Mary Crazy Larry was another great chase movie. Add to that Bullitt.
