I am replacing the front left & right cab mounts on my '66, K-10. I attempted to purchase the OEM replacements from Chevy Duty, however they are on backorder for a few weeks. In an effort to get the truck back on the road, I purchase from another supplier that sells the OEM replacements. My question is while replacing the floor pans, I have cut out the rusted portions, however I need to get the old cab mounts out. Do I have to drill the spot welds to remove? Anyone that has performed this operation may be able to give me some advice. Thanks in advance for your input.

I haven't done the cab mounts but I have done the door sills. The process should be similar. Use a drill bit to drill out the spot welds and it will fall off. I drilled small holes around the replacement part and after I put it in place I welded the holesonto the truck. Kind of a homemade spot weld. Good Luck
