Resistor Help?

Discussion in '1967-1972' started by hatericeburners, Sep 16, 2004.

  1. I have seen this picture that says the factory engine harness had a voltage resistor that was designed to limit the points type distributor to only 6 volts. I got the truck already with the up-grade to HEI. But, I have no idea if he eliminated the resistor to allow the new distributor the full 12 volts.

I have limited knowledge, but it confused me. I belive the caption speaks of the resistor wire but the picture (included) confussed me.

    help a college freshman out.

    Thanks a bunch.

    RE: the photo

i would imagine that he took it off because if it was still on 6 volts it would not run good at all.
