rims

    will the 16 inch 6 lug 1960 rims work on 1948 6 lug hub and cold i use 1948 center caps. thanks

    The wheels are very similar in most aspects. They both have the same bolt circle diameter (5 1/2"), both have the same stud diameter (7/16"), both are approximately 5" wide. However, the original rims have a 9/16" offset, whereas the newer rims have a 7/16" offset. I'm not sure that this would make a big difference or not, but it could affect clearances.

    As far as using your original hubcaps, be aware that they attach to the original rims via 6 clips. The newer rims will not have the clips, so you'll have to buy clips for the newer wheels and install them in order to use the original caps.
