I have started to dissemble the diff but have run into a slight problem. I cannot get the carrier bearings off. The Patricks instructions say I can setup my slide hammer setup 2 jaw style but I have done that. It is super awkward but have tried to remove it that way and its a no go. I went all over town looking for the right (differential bearing puller) tool but it seems nobody around here works on their diff's because no auto parts stores have it.

How to I remove the carrier bearings or where to get the tool?

I used to rent gear pullers from the local rent it yard ~ I was surprised to find out they had tools in addition to pickups and cement mixers etc.

    2 jaw

I found only a four jaw would do the trick. Gotta be pulled nice and square with even pressure.
