Does anyone know or has anyone had dealings with a group called
    " Gilly's Classics " ??? run by a guy called Ian J Hunt ??? at Placerville CA.
I have purchased a 1955 GMC Big Window stepside and he has failed to come through with the deal...all he has done is take the money and vanished. Does anyone know of legal avenues i can take to recover my loss. I have paid for it in full but no delivery and no refund. I have been at this guy for almost a year now and it is getting me frustrated....I have ALL emails dating back a whole year and he claims he is not liable...because i purchased this truck from his friend....not directly from HIM...even though the money was paid for in full into his account under his business name. Can anyone help me ??? What can be done ???
His website is www.gillys.com but do not buy from him as he is a conman.

Best of luck in recovering your $$. I'm not a lawyer and this is by no means legal advice. I've have had to collect $ from deadbeats and scammers several times before (just one of the many joys of being in biz for yourself). To start I always get as much info as I can on both the business and the person (both him and his friend). I would start with the Better Business Bureau in his home town (file a complaint) and the court clerks office to see if he's got any legal suits (civil and criminal) against him. You might be able to do this online. Check corporate records for the state as well. I don't know about venue so you may need to check with a lawyer or you may be able to get some help from your local court clerks. It seems to me if he advertised the truck, negotiated with you, collected the money, etc. he is the responsible party, but as I said I'm not a lawyer. Hope this helps and does you some good.

Thank you very much for your advice as every little bit counts especially being from another country...all the help i get is GREATLY appreciated...i want this guy to know i wont go away and hope that he hasn't done this to many other people.....At least if i can stop him doing this to someone else my time would not have been lost.It can and does leave a sour taste in your mouth...I wonder how many other people have been caught by him!!! I am not familiar with your legal terms and its makes it much easier knowing what and who to ask...where to go for help..etc. THANKS AGAIN....take care..
