Rocker panel replacement

    Well the wiring is in.
    I ordered some more parts. Necessary things like the head light adjustors and rocker panels. The welding wire only last awhile.


    Speaking of rocker replacement. I bought the short one that don't take out the uprise of the door jam. I also got the bottom plate.
    Any pics of how these are suppose to go together ?

    First cut the bad part of the rocker and remove the spot welds. I drilled small holes in it to tack it in place. If you need to, trim the replacement rocker to fit and tack in place. Weld the cut areas one small tack at a time until the seam is filled. I would recommend to use argon gas when you make this weld. It will help you make a cleaner weld.

    Personally I would recommend buying the full rockers. They are easier to install and the is no internal rust left over when you are done. It also gives you full acess to the inner rocker and door structure.

    yeah kinda familiar with the sheetmetal drill spot weld drill.etc.
    I'll treat the inside areas with ospho to eliminate what little rust we have out here.
