I have my 54 truck engine up and running descent, still hesitates but Im gonna get that worked out soon. Anyways, I was watching the rocker arms the today as the truck was running with the valve cover off, and i could see the the oil starting to come out of the top of the rocker closest to the firewall. A few seconds later it started to come out of the one beside like normal. But... once it got about halfway, I stopped seeing the oil come out, only just and occasional bubble. I know that the shaft isnt clogged because I had seen oil come out from the front rocker arms before. I had just recently took off a weird add-on oil filter that was routed into the top of the head. I dont know if taking that off made it all lose pressure. Any ideas guys? Sorry for the long paragraph. Thanks, Cody

    Rocker Oiling

Rev. the engine to 1,200 RPM or so and wait , in a bit all the rockers should begin to weep .

Some bubbling is normal unless you've re - bushed the rockers & replaced the shaft .

This is yet one more reason to use thinner , multi - viscosity oils , so the oil is able to get up out of the pan and circulate more in this low pressure , high volume oiling system .
