Do the front clips of the 47-53 grain trucks interchange with pickups? I know the fenders have wider openings, but I wonder if the cab and hood are the same?
Cab should be the same , not sure about the hood but simple detective work with a tape measure should answer this .
Heck I dunno , tape measure is hanging on the side of the rollaway and the truck of course , is miles away in Soth Central L.A. , working . It's a 1/2 tonner anyway .
Aimless I'm in the process of using the cab off a 48 ton-n-half on my 1/2 ton. From all my measurments and the two cabs setting side by side they look to be the same. It set on the frame just as the old cab came off except 48 is a three point and the 51 is 4 bolts. The rest of the front end sheet metal is different. Even the grill (Chevy) is to long to use on the 1/2 ton. Don't throw them away. I had a guy come by as I was tearing it down and he bought all the extra parts I didn't want. I have not hung the 1/2 ton front sheet metal yet so I can't tell you how much work there is. Nate said it would fit and I took his word for it he hasn't lead me ashtray yet. 51 Papy
