Can anyone advise where I might find some of those metal spring clips that hold the seat material to the frame? My 51 did not use hog rings and the seat frame is too big/wide for the rings. Many of my metal clips are rusty and missing.

    Thanks

You can get 'em from upholstery material suppliers. I got a box of 500 from Perfect Fit-McDonald in Portland, OR. They only sell by the box but you will have a lifetime supply. The part number is AV07578. They are a little different in that they have the ends curved back away from the fabric/vinyl so they don't cut into the material but they hold just fine. A box costs about $15.00. You can find them on the web at www.perfectfit.com.

Thanks for the response. I did order a box of those clips from Perfect Fit and do agree with you, they are much better than the originals. Have installed them on a new seat cover and they worked great.
