Anyone know what the function of the thin cable and pully system is on the bottom of the bench seat frame?

    On some years....

other years GM stupidly ran a rod across the middle of the storage space where toolboxes & axes , crowbars etc. soon ripped the rubber center support out of the floor , disabling it....

Thats the doohickey that rattles againts the botto of the seat frame and drives the driver nuts. It was a no charge factory option only in the deluxe cab models.
