I am building a 56 rat rod and wondering what seat fits best. I am installing a 78 chevy ven tilt column. Just wondering what others have installed..Thanks a lot and happy roddin'...steve in boise

come on now guys...I know someone out there has replaced the original seat with another seat out of a totally different vehicle. A guy on ebay said he installed a 77 el camino seat. any other ideas would be great.

I haven't done this myself, but it seems to me I remember reading about somebody that had put in a bench seat from a early to mid 90's full size GM truck. Either a silverado or sierra.

I don't remember what difficulties (if any) they faced. sorry couldn't be more help.

the seat from my 05 silverado will fit in my 57 GMC, but I'm useing the second row bucket seats from a 93 chev astro van they have dual armrests.
