I am getting ready to order patch panels and a fender or two. I have heard nightmare stories about aftermarket parts. Is there one brand or vendor that is best? Is there anyone I should stay away from?
    Thanks

I don't think so. But please remember even the BEST formed sheet metal products may not bolt EXACTLY up to your truck. I ordered a pair of front fenders for my '65 and they were an inch too short. All I could do was stretch them . . . hooked a comealong to the fender then one end to the back of the frame and started cranking. Be patient and don't rush.

    Repo Sheet metal

The reproduction sheet metal available ususlly will not fit like you would think. I bought a right front fender for my 58 and just like the post above me states I had to cut many spot welds use a come along and rework the fender to get a proper fit. It was 5/8" short on the front mounting around the headlight eyebrow. If possible repair the old one. If I knew then what I know now I would of fixed my old fender and saved $400. The repro sheetmetal I was came from Dynacorn International they have dealers in the US but I think they are made in China. Just my 2 cents. You can see my project here.
