Does anyone know where I can get a blank (smooth) cover for where my shifter was on the column on my 65'?
I just put a Hurst 3-speed truck floor shifter on it.

Rather than do that, consider swapping a tilt column from a later model truck or van. Look at swap meets and e-Bay. If you are patient you should be able to find one for about $150-$200.

The van columns will not have the ignition on the column, so it looks factory. I found a rebuilt one at a swap meet for $150 two years ago. I just switched to a Billet Specialties tilt and sold the old one for what I paid for it two years ago.

By going to a later model column you can also get rid of the " javilin" steering column pointed right at your chest... ;)

Thats's nice option. However I would like to keep the column as stock as possible.
Do you know of any after market plain or blank columns availible.

If you look really hard you just may be able find a column without the shifter or any provision for such from a truck that originally had a floor shifter. Heavier trucks should be a great source for this as many came with four speeds and other transmissions friendly to a floor shifter. I managed to get one for $40 from a guy I know and I couldn't be happier with how it is. He took it out of a 1-ton flatbed with a running 283 he scored for $250.
